Saying that Myanmar was also laying stress on increasing the bilateral trade relationship with India, sources said the new government in Myanmar had also decided to enhance its connectivity with the border areas.
Asserting that India had given a commitment on extending all kinds of assistance to improve connectivity, the security sources said Myanmar has reiterated its commitment to stop its soil being used against India by separatist groups.
The security sources said Myanmar was willing and was now taking steps to intensify the relationship on many fronts.
The joint patrol of border areas and proposed projects for development of infrastructure in troubled areas would help strengthening the economy of Myanmar, the sources said.
They further said that there was a huge visible change in the attitude of the Myanmar government, that has now started sharing its intelligence inputs with its counterparts in India. The Myanmar Army has been maintaining vigil in the hilly terrain by sending patrol parties.
