Three-day long “Diwali Baithak” of the RSS is beginning in Hyderabad from October 23 and speculation is rife that the Sangh parivar’s fountainhead could depute some more pracharks to the BJP. A decision in this regard could be taken by the RSS top brass, which will also review various programmes undertaken by its affiliates and strategies for the coming Assembly elections in key states.
RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and his second-in-command Bhaiyya Joshi will chair the meet. Mr Bhagwat will also inaugurate next month a three-day-long convention of the Rashtriya Sevika Samiti, a brainstorming session “prerna shivir”, on various issues, including improving its reach, especially among the youth, ideological issues, social harmony and the importance of family. The event, beginning from November 11, will see Lok Sabha Speaker Sumita Mahajan, Union ministers Sushma Swaraj, Uma Bharti, Goa governor, Mridula Sinha, Manipur governor Najma Heptulla addressing events and will be attended by around 3,000 Sevika Samiti members.
Sevika Samiti’s Alka Inamdar said, “We will discuss our way forward in terms of improving our outreach, especially among young women, keeping in minds the changing times.”
We will also review the work done by us in last eight years.”
She added that the changes will “strictly be within the ideological parameters” of the organisation.
At the RSS’ “Akhil Bhartiya Karyakarini Baithak” in Hyderabad, parivar affiliates will submit reports of the various activities undertaken by them, which would then be reviewed. Other than this, important national political and social events could be discussed and resolutions could be passed in the meeting.
