Four days after a three-year-old girl was raped and abandoned in a bush in an injured condition here, another shocking incident of a father sexually abusing his minor daughter came to light here on Saturday.
A 16-year-old girl, accompanied by her mother, reached a local police station to narrate her ordeal. She deposed before the police saying that she had been raped by her father twice.
According to the Nishatpura police station, the alleged victim, a Class 9 student of a government school, lived with her parents, daily wage earners, and three younger brothers.
“On July 29 when my mother and brothers went to the market, my father Mahesh started misbehaving with me and then raped me after overpowering me, finding me alone in the house. He threatened me of dire consequence if I revealed the incident to anyone. He sexually abused me again on a later day when I was alone in the house. I mustered the courage to confide in my mother and maternal uncle about my father’s misdeeds,” the FIR filed by her read.
Later, they decided to lodge an FIR with the police.
“Mahesh has been booked under charges of rape and POCSO Act and arrested,” the investigating officer said.
Meanwhile, the condition of the toddler who was gangraped on August 31, has improved in the last 24 hours. However, she was still in a trauma following the incident.
