As curfew and violence continues unabated in the Kashmir Valley, a delegation of Opposition parties from Jammu and Kashmir, led by former state chief minister Omar Abdullah, arrived here on Monday to hold talks with the Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the ongoing Kashmir unrest.
Speaking to Modi, Abdullah said that a continued failure to address the unrest in Kashmir will further deepen the sense of alienation among the Kashmiris and requested the Prime Minister to hold talks with all the stake holders in the valley immediately.
The delegation included CPI-M MLA Mohammed Yusuf Tarigami, state Congress President G A Mir, senior leaders of National Conference and some Independent MLAs.
The delegation of the state leaders had earlier met President Pranab Mukherjee, besides Congress V-P Rahul Gandhi.
The Kashmir Valley, which has seen a spate of violent incidences since the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen militant Burhan Wani, has been under a continuous lock down for over 40 days.
