J&K: 1 terrorist killed in encounter with security forces in Bandipora

The encounter erupted after forces cordoned off a house in Aragam village where militants were hiding.

Srinagar: An encounter is underway between Indian security forces and terrorists in Aragam village of Bandipora in Jammu and Kashmir.

One terrorist has been killed in the encounter, said reports.

An army officer was quoted as saying that the encounter erupted after forces cordoned off a house located in the forests in Aragam village. A few militants were suspected to be hiding in the house.

“The firing is going on between the two sides,” the report quoted him as saying.
