I will bring ‘achchhe din’ in UP, says Mayawati

Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) president Mayawati on Sunday said that “achchhe din” would arrive in Uttar Pradesh only when her party formed a majority government in the state.

Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) president Mayawati on Sunday said that “achchhe din” would arrive in Uttar Pradesh only when her party formed a majority government in the state.

Addressing a massive rally in Allahabad, Ms Mayawati said that no one could stop the BSP from coming to power in UP and her party would work on the principle of “Sarvjan Hitaye, Sarvjan Sukhaye”.

Slamming the Akhilesh government over the prevailing law and order situation, the BSP chief said that in her regime, criminals would either be in jail or outside the state.

Ms Mayawati lashed out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi for appearing in a telecom advertisement of a private company and said that the BJP government was working only for capitalists and industrialists and it policies were designed to benefit the rich.

She said that the Congress was voted out of power because it pursued wrong policies and did not bother about the poor people and now the BJP is following in the same footsteps.

Raising the reservation issue, she said that the BJP had betrayed the people and whenever she raised the issue, the party remained non-committal.

She said the PM has failed to fulfil the promises he had made to the voters during the Lok Sabha elections in 2014.

“Where is the promised black money and when will the people get their promised share of Rs 15 lakhs each What happened to the rollback of prices within 100 days ” the BSP chief asked.

Ms Mayawati also questioned Prime Minister’s silence on the attacks on dalits and Muslim community over the issue of cow slaughter.

The BSP president also criticised the media for carrying out a campaign against her and her party and asked Dalits to beware of such misinformation campaigns. She asked her people not to believe in pre-poll surveys since they had been proved wrong in 2007.
