About 7-8 persons were seen attacking the feline with sharp objects and sticks.

: A leopard was beaten to death by villagers in Gujarat's Botad district, prompting the forest department to order an inquiry into it.
A video of people from Rajmol village in Botad beating the male leopard went viral on social networking sites like WhatsApp a couple of days back.
In the video, about 7-8 persons were seen attacking the feline with sharp objects and sticks.
-"The incident happened on July 1, when the animal in search for prey may have entered in the village,-" Deputy Chief Conservator of Forest (Botad), A E Samuel said.
-"The villagers attacked the leopard with sticks and sharp-edged objects and killed it,-" he said.
An inquiry has been ordered against the villagers who attacked the leopard and killed it, the official added.
