Former Congress MP Sircilla Rajaiah, his wife and son were arrested on Thursday night following their sustained grilling by the police in connection with the death of his daughter-in-law and three grandsons at his residence here Wednesday.
“Rajaiah, his wife and son have been arrested and produced at the residence of a magistrate,” assistant commissioner of police (Hanamkonda sub-division) Shoban Kumar told PTI.
The charred bodies of S. Sarika and her three children Abhinav, 7, and twins Ayaan and Shriyaan, 3, were recovered Wednesday from the house of the former MP at Hanamkonda.
Meanwhile, an email sent by Sarika came to light on Thursday. Sarika had mailed Ms Rehana, her advocate in Hyderabad, explaining the harassment she underwent physically, mentally and financially because of her husband and in-laws.
In the email, she had stated that her husband Anil and her in-laws harassed her repeatedly and pressurised her to leave the house. The harassment increased even further after Mr Rajaiah became an MP. She had said that they would to act like kings and no would question anything they did.
Further, she said that her husband Anil was involved in an illicit relationship with another woman and that he seldom used to come home and would assault her over trivial issues. He used to pressure her by not paying the children’s school fees, bills for groceries, milk and electricity. She said that the harassment increased when she became pregnant for the second time.
