After a split pollster verdict on the Bihar Assembly elections, NDTV-Hansa on Friday put their money on the BJP-led NDA to win the state polls. In an exit poll broadcast late Friday night, the channel claimed that the NDA could win 125 seats out of a total of 243 in Bihar. It gave the Nitish Kumar-led Grand Alliance 110 seats.

Meanwhile, BJP president Amit Shah and senior RSS leader Krishna Gopal held a meeting at the former’s residence Friday evening to discuss the Bihar elections. BJP general secretary (organisation) Ramlal was also present during the meeting. RSS leader Ved Prakash, who looks after Indo-Nepal coordination, was also present during the meeting. Sources disclosed developments in Nepal and its effect on border areas in Bihar were also discussed. Mr Shah also met Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis before meeting Dr Gopal to discuss Cabinet expansion in the state.

The poll showed that the NDA led in three phases — second, third and fourth — while the other grouping led in the remaining two phases.

In the first phase comprising 49 seats, the Grand Alliance has been given 28 seats and the NDA 20. In the second phase with 32 seats, the alliances have been projected to get 12 and 19 respectively. The BJP-led alliance is tipped to get 28 seats in the third phases, which has a total of 50 seats. The Grand Alliance gets 21 seats. The fourth phase, which has 55 seats, the JD(U) alliance is predicted to get 21 seats.
