Doctor duo in Orissa found murdered

The denizens of Bhubaneswar on Sunday woke up to a blood curdling incident as a retired doctor couple was found murdered in the morning in their residence at Sailashree Vihar, a posh locality in the state capital. The deceased were identified as Dr Prafulla Mishra and Sushama Mishra. While Dr Prafulla Mishra was a retired ophthalmologist, his wife Dr Sushama Mishra was a specialist in obstetrics and gynaecology. The retired doctor couple was found murdered in their house with injury marks on their neck. The gory incident took place at VIM 608, Sailashree Vihar under the Chandrasekharpur police station limits while the elderly was alone in the home. Twin city commissioner of police Dr R.P. Sharma, quoting some local people, said the couple visited a temple in the area in the morning between 5.30 am to 6 am. The incident occurred in the early hours after their return from the temple. Bhubaneswar deputy commissioner of police and local police station staff rushed to the spot for investigation. A forensic team, along with sniffer dogs, has been pressed into service.
