Hyderabad mother kills daughters, 8 and 3, because dad was 'abusing them'

Mother taken into custody, no evidence yet that she is speaking the truth, say cops.

Two minor girls — 8-year-old Ashwika and 2-year-old Anwishka — were allegedly killed by their mother in Hyderabad on Wednesday evening. The mother has been taken into custody, according to reports.

The father of the deceased Vinay Chukte got apprised of the untoward incident when he returned home after his day’s work from Begumpet. The bodies of the girls were found under the bed and bathroom respectively.

Chukte immediately approached the police. The police trailed on the mother after garnering inputs and found her at the Hussainsagar Lake who was trying to commit suicide.

The mother, on being enquired of her motive behind the murders, said that she killed her daughters because they were being abused by their father.

The police are probing the matter; however, they haven’t bumped into evidence that proves the mother’s claims.
