Nashik: A 16-year-old slum dweller was allegedly stabbed to death here by three minor school students, police said on Wednesday.

The incident took place near Moti super market on city's peth road locality on Tuesday, Dinesh Bardekar, in-charge of Panchavati Police station, said.

According to police, the deceased, identified as Hrithik alias Raju Shergill had a criminal background.

Cases of mobile-thefts, looting and two murders were registered against him at city police station, the officer said.

Raju was attacked with sharp weapons when he was standing near the super market following the minors, studying in a local school, fled the spot. When passers-by informed police about it, he was rushed to nearby hospital, where he was declared dead, he said.

Old enmity seems to be the cause behind the murder. A case has been registered under relevant sections of the IPC and the trio has been detained in this connection, he said adding further probe is on.
