While the latest issue of the Congress Sandesh said Prime Minister Narendra Modi is “a wizard at the art of escaping when it comes to answering difficult questions”, the official website of the Congress said the PM is “all bluster and rhetoric”. “The absurd comments on the size of his chest hide the fact that Mr Modi can only talk tough, but under his watch ceasefire violations have increased and our jawans continue to be killed, and he goes to Pakistan to attend a wedding!”
“The Prime Minister is a wizard at the art of escaping difficult questions. Ever since he came to power, he has maintained a stoic silence to all the issues that disturbed the nation, even as he continued his monologue through speeches and his Mann Ki Baat. Of course to him his Mann ki Baat is important, but he fails to respond to the Mann of the people,” said the Congress Sandesh (March 2016) in its editorial comments.
It is time, as is his duty as the Prime Minister of the country and not of just the BJP or the RSS, to address the issues which concern the minds of the people, who are disturbed about the way his partymen are going about violently attacking dissent, the Congress said.
“The recent violence in a state that shares its border with the capital from three sides is very alarming and reflects incapability of the government to maintain law and order. Whether it was ineptness or lack of desire is anyone’s guess. This is not the only time. The recent incidents concerning the Delhi police and various other places are glaring examples.”
And the PM’s “mann” does not desire to share his thoughts with the country. “Is the answer to make fun of the Opposition and to say I couldn’t care less People are not fools, Mr Prime Minister. They already asking, and you have no better defence than to try a diversion by attacking in a personal way the vice-president (Rahul Ga-ndhi) of the Congress,” it said. A write-up on its website inc.in (March 29, 2016) asked, “By allowing Pakistan JIT to visit India, has PM Modi given a ‘clean chit’ to Pakistan ”
During the 2014 election campaign, India was told about the “56-inch chest” of Mr Modi.
“We were told that when he comes to power, India’s enemies will cower. BJP president Amit Shah had said, ‘Pakistani intruders won’t dare to cross the border.’ Mr Modi had openly questioned the sagacity of Dr Manmohan Singh in pursuing dialogue with Pakistan and had said, ‘Is it their protocol to cut our soldiers’ heads and our protocol to feed their leaders ‘”
“Now, the Pakistani establishment is orchestrating attacks on India’s forward airbases and PM Modi is rolling out the red carpet and allowing a Pakistani team, led by the notorious ISI, to tour our sensitive and high-security airbase in Pathankot.”
“By allowing an official Pakistani team to visit and investigate, the BJP government has, for the first time, distinguished and, therefore, recognised that the Pakistani establishment does not have any role in perpetuating terror in India, more so in context of the Pathankot terror attack. We have always recognised complete inter-mixing of State and non-State actors in export of terror to India. This clear line of ‘no distinction’ between State and non-State actors in Pakistan has been breached suo motu by the BJP government in favour of Pakistani Army and ISI,” it says.
