Senior IPS officer Madhup Kumar Tiwari, who was involved in a probe into the '6,000 crore suspicious remittances case at a Bank of Baroda (BoB) branch in Delhi, has been sent back to his cadre before the completion of his tenure in the country’s premier investigating agency.
Sources said the competent authority has given approval to the premature repatriation of Mr Tiwari, a 1995-batch IPS officer of the Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram and Union Territory cadre, with immediate effect. The Department of Personnel and Training issued an order in this regard on Tuesday.
Mr Tiwari was working as DIG in the CBI and looking after Bhopal zone. He had joined the CBI in 2013 and worked in special crime and banking securities and frauds cell of the agency as DIG. He had also looked after the forex scam case.
