: At least seven persons, including a woman, were injured when proscribed Garo National Liberation Army militants triggered an IED blast in Meghalaya's East Garo Hills district on Saturday.

The moderate intensity blast occurred near a wine shop in Williamnagar bazar. The seven injured were shifted to civil hospital for treatment, Inspector General of Police (Operations) G H P Raju said.

He said the Superintendent of Police was supervising the operations at the site.

According to the IG, GNLA cadre Ajan Ch Momin alias Jimmy, who is in charge of Williamnagar "command", sent his cadres to trigger the IED blast.

A manhunt has been launched to nab the culprits, he said.
