BJP team set to carry message to people

BJP chief Amit Shah is all set to unveil a team of office-bearers to become the messengers of the development works being done by the Narendra Modi-led government at the Centre.
The move comes against the backdrop of the Prime Minister calling upon BJP leaders during his address to the national executive meeting that they should all focus on the development agenda of the government.
The team to be unveiled soon is likely to include the powerful general secretary (organisation) besides his deputies, who are all drawn from RSS.
They will travel to various states at regular intervals and spend at least three days and nights at each place, said a senior BJP functionary.
The team will also have among its functions to ensuring implementation of organisational decisions taken at the March 19-20 national executive meet.
The Prime Minister had laid emphasis on the need to orienting party workers to “development” model of the NDA government.
Mr Modi’s pitch on the development agenda had apparently come against the backdrop of BJP leaders raking up issues which were putting the government in a tight spot.
The Prime Minister had stated that BJP leaders should focus on the developmental agenda and not be distracted by the Opposition’s negative campaign.
The BJP chief is apparently following up PM’s exhortations so that “there should be no gap between the central leadership’s vision and its execution on the ground”.
“It will lead to better documentation and monitoring of organisational work and the priority is publicising the government’s works and connect people with them,” a BJP functionary said.
The team may have up to 10-12 members and each of them will visit different states. It will report to the BJP chief. Among the other decisions taken by the party is that its various cells and morchas will hold their meet in different states so that they could “learn” from developments there, as suggested by the Prime Minister.
The party has also decided to hold its next national executive meet in the next three months, a requirement laid down by its constitution but often ignored in practice. The recent meet was held close to one year after it had met in Bengaluru in April 2015.
