After suspending him for “anti-party activities” and “indiscipline”, the BJP Thursday issued a showcause notice to Darbhanga MP Kirti Azad asking him why he should not be expelled. The party has given him 10 days to reply.
Mr Azad had raised the issue of alleged financial irregularities in the DDCA, over which the AAP has been demanding Union finance minister Arun Jaitley’s resignation as he was heading the Delhi cricket body then.
Mr Azad, it is learnt, is “ready” with his reply and will send it to the party headquarters on Friday. BJP leader Subramanian Swamy, who had earlier questioned his suspension, has apparently “vetted” his reply.
In a letter to BJP chief Amit Shah after being suspended on Decemebr 23, Mr Azad claimed he was a loyal BJP soldier and hadn’t done anything against the party.
