BJP MP Hema Malini reaches Mathura, meets cop’s family
Bharatiya Janata Party’s Mathura MP Hema Malini on Saturday reached her constituency and met family members of slain superintendent of police Mukul Dwivedi.

Bharatiya Janata Party’s Mathura MP Hema Malini on Saturday reached her constituency and met family members of slain superintendent of police Mukul Dwivedi. She also participated in the protest called by the local BJP unit against the government in UP.
The MP met family members of Dwivedi and consoled them. She assured them of a fair probe into the death of police officials.
“I have been informed that the district administration handled Thursday’s violence in the town poorly and despite knowing the presence of thousands of illegal occupants in Jawahar Bagh for the last two years, the district administration acted late. I demand an inquiry by the CBI in the incident,” she said.
She visited the policemen injured during the Mathura violence at the Nayati hospital.
The BJP MP also accused people for targeting her and attempting to divert the core issue, which was the failure of state government and district administration.
“I am in my constituency within 24 hours of the incident. It’s a state government issue, why is everyone after me Concentrating on the issue is more important than on my tweets at this point of time.”
Later, she sought permission from the police to visit Jawahar Bagh but she was denied entry citing ongoing searches in the area. On Saturday, a bomb squad found and diffused two crude bombs found inside Jawahar Bagh. The police said they had restricted civilian’s entry into the area.
“This is not a big issue and there was no ulterior motive to bar the MP from entering the area. Combing operations are underway and police teams and experts are examining the area. We are in the process of clearing the area at the earliest. It will be open for all in few days,” said a senior police official.
The actress-politician then attended the scheduled ‘dharna’ at the Collectorate, called by BJP National Secretary Shrikant Sharma and local BJP unit.
In protest, BJP members alleged involvement of ruling state government in the violence that was erupted in Thursday evening in Mathura.
