After the massive victory of the Nitish Kumar-Lalu Yadav-led Grand Secular Alliance, BJP leaders have started spitting fire against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP president Amit Shah, holding them responsible for the poll debacle in Bihar.

Several senior BJP leaders have now started lining up to criticise the PM and Mr Shah for raking up communal issues instead of talking about development during their campaign and rallies.

Senior BJP leader and MP Bhola Singh said: “They should have discussed about development, not communal and caste issues.”

Slamming Mr Modi and Mr Shah further, he said, “Personal attack against Nitish Kumar and Lalu Yadav was another major reason which turned voters away from the NDA.”

He said the Prime Minister and Mr Shah fell into Mr Yadav’s trap and started speaking like him while Mr Kumar maintained his dignity and avoided making personal remarks against Mr Modi and Mr Shah. He felt that the beef and Pakistan issues communalised the political scenario of the state.

“People had gone to listen to the Prime Minister but they found him speaking like Lalu Yadav. The Prime Minister fell to Lalu Yadav’s googly and forgot his ‘sabka saath sabka vikas’ agenda,” Mr Bhola Singh said on Tuesday.

Attacking Mr Modi and praising Mr Kumar, he said: “The Prime Minister represents the whole country. He should have maintained dignity like Nitish Kumar.”

Not leaving any stone unturned in attacking BJP leaders who had campaigned in Bihar, he attacked RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat for making “anti-reservation statements”.

Besides Mr Singh, other senior leaders like Shatrughan Sinha and R.K. Singh have already expressed their ire against the party chief and the PM.
