UP, Bihar agree to bus connectivity
After almost two decades, the Uttar Pradesh and Bihar governments have agreed to ply buses between the two states.
The government buses of both the states will operate on 25 identified routes, while private buses have been permitted on nine other routes. According to Mr Arvind Dev, principal secretary, transport, an agreement to this effect between the two state governments has been signed. UP transport commissioner K. Ravindra Naik said that the agreements would facilitate travel between the two states , especially for those who have relatives in both states.
The routes on which the government buses of both the states would ply are Patna-Varanasi via Arrah-Buxar, Darbhanga-Bhadoi via Varanasi-Sevapuri, Gaya-Saranath via Aura-ngabad-Dehri, Patna-Ballia via Arrah-Buxar, Chapra-Gorakhpur, Siwan-Gora-khpur, Motihari-Gorakhpur, Raxaul-Gorakhpur via Gopalganj-Salemgarh-Kasya, Raxaul-Gorakhpur via Motihari, Deoria-Patna, Varanasi-Dehri, Ramnagar-Bhabua via Jamalpur- Sinderpur-Bhikampur-Chakia-Ben-Dharauli, Arrah-Varanasi, Ballia-Buxar via Fefna- Bayani-Chitbaragaon-Bharauli, Alinagar-Dehri, Bhabua-Varanasi, via Dharauli-Chandauli, Patan-Gorak-hpur via Hajipur-Siwan-Deoria, Bhabua-Varanasi via Naubatpur, Muzaff-arpur-Gorakhpur via Alempur-Piprakothi, Raxaul-Gorakhpur via Piprakothi-Gopalganj, Buxar-Ujariyaghat,Chapra-Ballia via Bariya, Azam-garh-Muzaffarpur via Ballia-Majhighat, Varanasi-Gaya via Aurangabad and Lucknow-Varasi-Gaya via Aurangabad.
The private buses would operate on the route of Barhaj-Salempur-Pratappur factory-Maira-wa-Siwan, Salempur-Bhin-gari-Bhawanichapar-Neerganj-Hatua-Siwan, Samaur-Padrauna-Chitauni-Bagha,Gorakhpur-Kaptanganj-chitaunighat-Bagha, Ballia-Buxar via Bharauli border, Ballia-Chapra via Majhighat, Mau-Gahmarvara, Varanasi-Buxar via Bara-Chausa and Varanasi-Dehri via Sasaram-Mohania-Bhabua-Karmna-Chandauli.
