The recent stand-off between Union ministers Prakash Javadekar and Maneka Gandhi on allowing culling of monkeys has reached the Supreme Court, with animal lovers seeking a direction to stop this menace.
On Wednesday, senior counsel Anand Grover made an urgent mention before a vacation bench of Justices A.K. Goel and L. Nageswara Rao for early listing of the petition filed by animal rights activist Gauri Maulekhi. The bench said it will be listed in the normal course within a week.
