Train kills tiger, Madhya Pradesh toll hits 32 this year

This was the second incident in which a tiger was hit by a speeding train in the state in the past one month.

Bhopal: A three-year-old female tiger was on Wednesday evening mowed down by a train near Midghat under Budni police station in Madhya Pradesh’s Sehore district.

According to divisional forest officer (DFO), Sehore, R.S. Alwa, the tiger was killed after being run over by Intercity Express at around 10.30 pm on Wednesday.

This was the second incident in which a tiger was hit by a speeding train in the state in the past one month.

On December 6, a tiger was killed by a speeding train near Majhghavan railway station in Satna district.

With the death of the female tiger at Midghat, the number of big cats killed in the state this year has gone up to 32.

Majority of the tigers were killed by poachers to perform black magic.
