New Delhi: VHP’s international working president Pravin Togadia has questioned the “abrupt, snoopy and sudden questioning and investigation” of volunteers of its Hindu Help Line and India Health Line by the Intelligence Bureau (IB) and sought an apology.

In a letter to the IB director on Thursday, he questioned on “whose behest such insidious investigations” were being carried out.

The two helplines are Mr Togadia’s initiatives which the sangh parivar affiliate has been operating for a few years.

The VHP leader has demanded an apology from the Union home ministry and the IB. A similar letter has also been sent to the PMO.

“… we were saddened and shocked to hear and see IB officers questioning VHP, India Health Line, Hindu Helpline volunteers ..and asking details of how these were operating..and who all are associated with them,” said Mr Togadia in his letter. He said the IB should rather probe other issues of national security.
