Bhopal: Maoists have admitted huge casualties among their cadres in the last one year, saying that as many as 125 ultras were killed in encounters with security forces at different places in south Bastar in Chhattisgarh during the period.

A statement issued by South Sub-Zonal Bureau (SSZB) of outlawed CPI (Maoist) said high casualties among the Naxal cadres in the encounters with security personnel have become cause of concern for the organisation. The statement has identified the slain Maoists.

The statement has also admitted that the Maoists were constrained to restrict their activities in the red zone in Bastar following intensifying search operations in Bastar by security forces.
