As 21-day lockdown begins, Madhya Pradesh reports coronavirus tally of 14 with 5 new cases

Earlier, six people in Jabalpur, one each in Bhopal, Shivpuri and Gwalior, had tested positive for COVID-19.

Bhopal: Five more people tested positive for the coronavirus COVID-19 in Madhya Pradesh on Wednesday, taking the tally of confirmed cases to 14.

Four of the five new infected persons were Indore, while one was in Ujjain.

“The five people have been admitted in isolation wards in different government hospitals,” Indore district collector Lokesh Kumar Yadav said. “We are in the process of identifying people with whom they had come into contact”

Earlier, six people in Jabalpur, one each in Bhopal, Shivpuri and Gwalior, tested positive for COVID-19.

Curfew had been in force in three cities, Bhopal, Jabalpur and Gwalior, in MP since Tuesday, when Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a country-wide lockdown for 21 days from Wednesday, March 25.
