New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday chaired a meeting of BJP chief ministers and deputy chief ministers to discuss how to work on a mission mode to attain PM’s goal of a “New India” by the year 2022. BJP president Amit Shah along with Union ministers Rajnath Singh and Sushma Swaraj and some senior office bearers, including Vinay Sahasrabuddhe, Anil Jain, Bhupendra Yadav among others were also present during this meeting, which lasted for nearly four hours.

After the meeting, Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath said that all chief ministers and deputy chief ministers “received PM Modi’s guidance as to how states will work on mission mode to attain PM’s goal of a New India by 2022.” Issues including how to double farmers income and how to achieve the motto of “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat” by implementing “garib kalyan” schemes were discussed.

BJP leaders also discussed how to keep  corruption out from these poor-centric schemes.

Chattisgarh chief minister Raman Singh said that the Prime Minister gave a road map till 2022 to all states and its implementation will be monitored personally by Mr Modi and Mr Shah after every three month.

With an eye on the backward class votebank, the BJP will highlight how opposition Congress’s  “anti-poor and anti-OBC stand” got exposed when its leaders, stalled a Constitutional amendment bill in the recently concluded monsoon session of Parliament, which would have  made backward  classes commission into a constitutional body. Mr Modi also took stock of the efforts undertaken in flood-hit states, including Assam.

The meeting was attended by all the 13 chief ministers and six deputy chief ministers of the party. Mr Modi and Mr Shah also reviewed development and social welfare work being done in the party-ruled states.
