Assam signs MoU with Isha to save rivers

Assam became the sixth state in the country to sign MoU with non-profit making and spiritual organisation---the Isha foundation.

Guwahati: In a significant move the Assam government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Isha Foundation to conserve and rejuvenate the rivers of Assam.

Assam became the sixth state in the country to sign MoU with non-profit making and spiritual organisation---the Isha foundation.  

Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal, who was present on the occasion, said, “The Assamese civilisation has been enriched by Brahmaputra and Barak and saving these g prime objectives of the state government. These rivers are the lifelines.”
