New Delhi: Onlookers made videos, turning a blind eye to the plight of the victims of a gory road accident in a Madhya Pradesh district, a couple of days ago.

A video going viral in social media shows passers-by dropping at the accident site at Kesla in Itarsi, nearly 80 km from here, not to rescue of the three victims but make video of the heartrending sight in which the lone survivor in the mishap, identified as Deepak Rajvans (46), was seen holding his wife and five-year-old son, lying in a pool of blood, tightly in his arms and pleading them to arrange medical help for them.

The onlookers were seen going on clicking pictures in their cell phones for around 40 minutes even as the man was praying them to call an ambulance. The police reached the spot after being informed by Deepak, himself, in his cell phone.

A coal-laden truck hit a bike on its back at Kesla leading to the accident. Deepak was riding the bike while his wife and son were the pillion riders.

The police had arranged an ambulance to carry them to the nearby government hospital where doctors declared woman and child brought dead. The video has been uploaded in the social media apparently by one of the onlookers.

“We have found onlookers were taking pictures of the victims without bothering to come to their help, when we reached the spot”, the cop who visited the site told this newspaper on Wednesday.

“We have arrested the driver of the truck. The cleaner of the truck was absconding”, Kesla police station in-charge Brijesh Uike said on Tuesday.
