Bypolls to two seats in MP on February 24

Bhopal: Byelections to Mungaoli and Kolaras Assembly seats, results of which are tipped to be a pointer to the general mood in Madhya Pradesh going to polls this November, will be held on February 24.

Notification for the crucial by-polls to these two seats, falling under Guna parliamentary constituency, considered pocket borough of Gwalior royal and Congress heavyweight Jyotiraditya Scindia, was issued by the election commission on Friday. Byelections were necessitated following deaths of the sitting Congress MLAs  Mahendra Singh Khalu-kheda and Ram Singh Yadav respectively.

Mr Scindia, a front runner to lead Congress in the forthcoming Assembly elections in MP, has already visited the two constituencies several times.
