Bhubaneswar: A Pawan Hans chopper on Tuesday made an emergency landing on road due to inclement weather near Machara Chhak in Koraput district. The chopper was on its way to Koraput from Bhubaneswar when the weather deteriorated forcing the pilot to land it on the road.
The helicopter has reportedly not suffered any damage. The copter would have carried BSF jawans from Koraput to Visakhapatnam. Odisha has been experiencing heavy rain since Sunday resulting in flash floods.
In another development, a woman was reported fighting for life in an ambulance which remained unmoved in Malkangiri owing to overflowing water.
The woman, identified as Rame Padiami of Keriaguda village under Pidia block in the district, was on the way to a nearby hospital in an ambulance after being injured in a wall collapse incident due to the torrential rain.
However, the ambulance got stuck near Kankerkonda. As per the latest report, the ambulance was still stuck due to overflowing water level.
