New Delhi: People took to social media on Thursday to complain about glitch in mobile wallet company Paytm after many complained that they were not able to get confirmation about their transactions even when money has been deducted from their accounts.

Patym, which has benefited from the demonetisation drive, seems to unable to cope with the increase in demand. This raises question about how dependable the service of the company is and whether people can depend on it fully for transactions all the time. There was huge backlash on Twitter against Paytm.

“@Paytm it was for an urgent payment! #fail... but who cares....,” tweeted Nitin Gupta. “@Paytm u see what ruckus u guys create so shameful guys u are,” said another tweet. In response Paytm tweeted: “Some of you might be facing temporary inconvenience on our platform. We’re currently updating our systems for higher capacity. Back shortly.”

However people didn’t seem satisfied with the explanation.

“@Paytm You could have done it at midnight, “ said a tweet.

“ @Paytm I am not being able to pay for my cab because of the outage. Have no cash. When will your system be back online?! @Paytmcare, “ complained another tweeter.

In a late night press statement, Paytm said, “Over the last month, we have seen a surge in usage and while we operate at multiple times the expected usage capacity, we still continue to further enhance e and scale our infrastructure. All banks and payment networks undertake scheduled downtimes to upgrade and carry out maintenance on their servers and infrastructure. This is another planned system upgrade”.
