Rahul, Sonia to visit their constituencies
UPA chairperson and Rae Barielly MP Sonia Gandhi is also expected to visit her parliamentary constituency on April 18.
New Delhi: Congress president Rahul Gandhi is all set to visit his parliamentary constituency, Amethi, on April 16, 17.
During his two-day visit, the Congress president will also take part in the district vigilance and monitoring committee meeting. It will be the second visit of Mr Gandhi to his constituency after he took over as Congress president.
UPA chairperson and Rae Barielly MP Sonia Gandhi is also expected to visit her parliamentary constituency on April 18.
In a setback to the Congress last week, party MLC and an influential leader from Uttar Pradesh’s Rae Bareli resigned from the party. Mr Singh, along with his relatives who have been associated with the Congress for years, are likely to join the BJP soon.
Mr Singh’s younger brother Rakesh is a Congress MLA from the Harchandpur Assembly seat. Another brother Avadhesh is the zila panchayat president from Rae Bareli. He is the lone zila panchayat president Congress has in the entire state. Dinesh Singh’s daughter-in-law is a block in-charge in Rae Bareli.
