Japan to relax visa norms for Indians

New Delhi: In the backdrop of ties between India and Japan growing stronger and the two countries engaged in a strategic dialogue, Japan on Tuesday announced it is “commencing the following visa relaxation measures for multiple-entry-visa for short-term stay to nationals of India (ordinary passports holders) from January 1, 2018”. 

Japan said “the relaxations are expected to help further development of people-to-people exchanges between Japan and India by enhancing convenience for Indian  tourists and business persons as well as repeat visitors”. 

It said this involved “simplification of visa application documents and expansion of scope of eligible applicants for multiple-entry-visa for short-term stay”.
