Jaipur: After raising the issue of bogus voters in MP, the Congress is apprehensive about fake voters in Rajasthan as well.

In a meeting recently, senior party leaders expressed doubts over alleged inclusion of certain voters in the lists by the BJP to improve its poll prospects. They suggested that workers and local leaders should minutely examine the list to spot any suspicious entry of voters in booth-wise list being prepared.

The fear is not without reason. During the byelection in Ward No. 6 of Kushalgarh panchayat samiti on Wednesday, the Congress gave a memorandum to district collector alleging that there were voters having names in two different lists. “For ward six, people from Bilipada and Ukala panchaya should be having names in the voter list, but there were about 100 people in the voter list who belong to vasuni panchayat,” district Congress president Chandmal Jain said.

State Congress chief Sachin Pilot, too, has publicly expressed concerned over several discrepancies in voter list, including some voters having multiple ID cards. “For example, a family of Congress supporter has six members. Now, their name in electoral roll has been registered at several booths particularly in case of women voters. This is being done so that they cannot cast votes collectively,” he said.
