Man goes missing after Akhilesh rally, found hanging from tree

Badaun: The body of a man who went missing on Monday after Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav's rally in Badaun was found hanging from a tree in Ughaiti area in the district, police said.

Pitam Shakya, 36, of Mavali village had gone to attend Akhilesh's rally on Monday but did not return, Superintendent of Police (Rural) Sanjay Rai said.

His body was on Tuesday found hanging from a tree after which locals informed his family members and police.

The family members of the victim alleged that he did not have enmity with anyone. They suspect that he was murdered.

Police is probing the case.
