India has been dependent on oil-rich Saudi Arabia for its energy security
New Delhi: Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman will undertake a two-day official visit to India starting February 19, the ministry of external affairs (MEA) announced on Tuesday.
India has been dependent on oil-rich Saudi Arabia for its energy security. Interestingly, according to reports in the Pakistani media, the Saudi crown Prince is also expected to visit Pakistan shortly.
It may be recalled that the powerful and controversial Saudi Crown Prince — who has taken several highly publicised steps to combat corruption and promote women’s empowerment in his country — has also been under the global spotlight ever since
the murder of Saudi dissident and journalist Jamal Khashoggi in Turkey a few months ago.
This, although the Saudi royal family has denied having had any role in the killing.
