Bhopal: A shocking goof-up in a medical report has turned an alleged gang-rape into consensual sex.

Two doctors in a government-run hospital here were placed under suspension following the appalling disclosure that the word “out” has been inadvertently omitted in the medical report of the alleged gang-rape victim, making it look like consensual sex.

The lady doctor who conducted medical tests on the 19-year-old girl student, who was allegedly gang-raped when she was returning from her coaching class here in the evening of October 31, in her report had mentioned “with her consent” instead of “without her consent”.

“The mistake in the medical report has been rectified after the doctor concerned accepted her fault claiming that she had miswritten a few things”, superintendent of rail police Ruchi Vardhan told reporters here on Thursday.

The medical report submitted by the doctor sparked a storm forcing the police to seek a clarification from her.

Besides omitting the crucial word “out”, another faux-pas was noticed to have been commited in the medical report where the words “accused and victim” have been interchanged in some places.
