Paramour gets odisha youth killed: Family

BHUBANESWAR: Family members of a youth who died of burn injuries on Saturday alleged murder behind his death and also claimed that a girl with whom he was having the affair was the mastermind. He died after being rescued from a school in Daagaon village under Balikuda police limits of Jagatsinghpur. The police identified the deceased as Krushna Champatiray, a resident of Kanchanpur village under Chandpur police, limits in Nayagarh district after his family members recognised him from the video showed in media reports. Krushna’s family members alleged that a girl used to call him on his phone and he was having an illicit love affair with her despite being married. “Day before Sunday, he left home, saying that he was going to Ahmedabad. Later, after watching the video which was telecast in the media, I found that it was him. A woman named Madhu is behind the incident and she must have called him to the place and orchestrated his murder along with her companions,” said Krushna’s wife. While it is alleged that he was probably set on fire, it is also suspected that heh could have deliberately set himself on fire after a family feud over his affair.

Speaking on the matter, Jagatsinghpur sub-divisional police officer (SDPO), said, “The deceased was working at a towel manufacturing company in Ahmedabad where he got in touch with a woman named Madhu. We have recorded the statement of his family members and an investigation is currently underway.”

While it is alleged that he was probably set on fire, it is also suspected that the youth could have deliberately set himself on fire over love affair or family feud as a knife and name ‘Madhu’ was found written with blood at the spot.
