PM Narendra Modi focuses on policing, security

Bhopal: Prime Minister Narendra Modi dwelt on the subject of policing and security while addressing the annual conference of DGPs and IGPs of the country at Tekanpur in Gwalior district of Madhya Pradesh on Sunday.

The PM also reviewed the status of decisions taken in the last three years on security related matters at the meet.

“At the conference of DGPs and IGPs in Tekanpur, there were insightful presentations and fruitful discussions on aspects related to our security apparatus. There was also a presentation on the implementation of decisions taken in the last three years,” Mr Modi tweeted.

The meet was organised at the BSF Academy at Tekanpur.

Earlier, on Sunday morning, he was received at a military airbase in Gwalior by chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and a host of his ministerial colleagues besides Union minister Narendra Singh Tomar.

Union home minister Rajnath Singh arrived in Gwalior on Saturday to attend the two-day meet scheduled to end on Monday.

“(I) had focused discussions with groups of officers on specific areas of policing and security. I also inaugurated five new buildings at the BSF Academy,” he tweeted.

Assam, Gujarat, and Telangana had hosted the annual conference of DGPs and IGPs in 2014, 2015, and 2016 respectively.
