Bhopal: A hyena on Friday strayed into a village in Madhya Pradesh triggering panic among the locals.

The fearsome wild animal suddenly appeared in the village of Rainga in Panna district in the forenoon, leaving the entire population in the village, including domestic animals, in a state of shock and panic.

A villager captured the whole scene in his cell phone camera which later went viral in social media. The clip showed people along with livestock in the village running helter-skelter out of panic with the animal chasing them.

Later, a street dog appeared to have gathered courage and started barking it the hyena. Soon, other dogs joined it to drive the wild animal out of the village. This was second such incident in a month in which wild animals strayed into human habitations in MP.

Earlier in December, a full grown tiger was spotted in a village barely 15 km from Bhopal city. Forest department officials, however, captured the big cat a few hours later and released in the nearby jungle.
