Pilot cites government order to public works department.
Jaipur: The Congress on accused Vasundhara Raje government of misusing government machinery for her Rajasthan Gaurav Yatra. The party also asked chief minister if it was legal and morally right o do so. This was first of the 40 questions that the party would ask the CM every day during her 40-day political tour.
State Congress president Sachin Pilot cited a government order instructing officials of public works department to make arrangements for chef minister Vasundhara Raje’s public meeting during the Rajasthan Gaurav Yatra starting on Saturday.
“The entire government is being pressed to make arrangements. A committee of senior officials of the PWD has been formed and instructed to facilitate tent, sound system, stage and other arrangements. I ask chief minister Vasundhara Raje ji to clarify if it is a legal and morally correct thing. Who gave these orders?” Mr. Pilot asked during his media briefing in Jaipur on Friday.
The government order issued by chief engineer and additional secretary of the PWD, a copy of which was provided by the PCC chief has also stated that divisional additional chief engineers, concerned superintendent engineer of the district will co-ordinate the arrangements while executive engineers will ensure all these arrangements in co-ordination with the district administration.
“The chief minister’s Rajasthan Gaurav Yatra is beginning from August 4. During this public meetings would be organised. Instructions have been received to make arrangements for tents, sound system, stage and other things,” the order of chief engineer C.L. Verma reads.
He has further constituted a committee making chief engineer M.L. Verma (building) nodal officer while three officers have been appointed as assistant nodal officers on the committee.
