Kanimozhi Twitter account hacked, complaint filed

Chennai: The city police are investigating a complaint from a DMK functionary alleging that party Rajya Sabha member Kanimozhi’s Twitter handle had been compromised to spread a fake tweet abusing Hindu practices in praying for her father Karunanidhi’s well-being. The complaint addressed the cyber crime wing of the Chennai police had carried with it the photo-copy of the Tamil tweet under the @kanimozhiDMK tag, which had her saying that she had thrown into the dustbin the prasadam of Lord Ganesha sent by Hindu Makkal Katchi leader Arjun Sampath (for Karunanidhi’s healing). “No religious leader need to visit my ailing father. No DMK member should resort to superstitious practices,” said the tweet in Tamil.

Another tweet, which could be even more abusive had her saying that she had gone to the Tirupati temple during menstruation but did Venkatachalapathy kill her? “This is what Periyar had termed as superstitious”, the tweet had said.
