Addressing a meeting of senior officials he said, “My government is going to come back after the elections so do not think that we are on our way out. I will not tolerate any laxity in work and you must not believe that we are here for a year or so. I am not going to be lenient any longer, and those who think so will have to face action.”

The chief minister pointed out that several state government s had returned to power on the development issue and the Samajwadi Party government would also make a comeback because of its good policies and developmental work.

Mr Yadav said that if his job was under threat, he would not hesitate in easing out officials in important positions who had failed to deliver on time. According to sources, the chief minister seemed adequately angry and spoke in a matter of fact manner.
