UP chief minister Akhilesh Yadav has landed in a controversy for allegedly violated Supreme Court guidelines during his visit to the Taj Mahal on Tuesday.

ASI superintendent Bhuvan Vikram Singh said that the report of the violations had been submitted to the ASI headquarters in Delhi along with a video.

He said that a showcause notice has been served to the stationed officials at the monument. “Soon appropriate steps would be taken against those who flouted the rules,” he said.

According to reports, Mr Yadav entered the Taj Mahal along with his security guards, fully equipped with arms and ammunition.

As per the Supreme Court guidelines, no arms and ammunition are allowed inside the Taj Mahal premises. It is only Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel who are allowed to guard the VIPs and dignitaries inside the protected monument.

The chief minister flouted another guideline when he signed two MoUs on the central tank inside the Taj Mahal. He signed two MoUs with Palorama India and Uttar Pradeshi in Canada. The Supreme Court has clearly mentioned that no business activity is allowed inside the Taj Mahal.
