Accused in Vyapam case arrested
The UP Special Task Force (STF) in a joint operation with the CBI, arrested Ramesh Shivhare, the prime accused in the Vyapam scam, from Kanpur on Wednesday.
The UP Special Task Force (STF) in a joint operation with the CBI, arrested Ramesh Shivhare, the prime accused in the Vyapam scam, from Kanpur on Wednesday. He had been absconding for the last three years and carried a reward of Rs 10,000. UP DGP Javeed Ahmad said, “We have arrested Shivhare this morning from the Avas Vikas colony in Kalyanpur area of Kanpur. He is wanted by CBI in several cases in the Vyapam scam.” CBI sources said that Shivhare is wanted in five cases which are related to alleged irregularities in the conduct of Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board, also known as Vyapam. Shivhare allegedly acted as a middleman and arranged for the impostors and dummy candidates to appear in the examination conducted by Vyapam for a certain amount. A native of Uttar Pradesh, Shivhare’s wife was a local body member in Mahoba.
