8 Maoists gunned down in encounter in Chhattisgarh

Eight Maoists, including five women, were killed Tuesday in an encounter at Sakler in Chhattisgarh’s South Bastar district of Sukma, bordering Telangana. IGP Bastar Range S.R.P. Kalluri said three of the eight were identified as Gottimukkala Ramesh alias Lachanna (52), a special zonal committee member who belonged to Andhra’s Guntur district; woman Naxal Yosuf Bi alias Soni (40), from Medak, Telangana; and Raju (25) of Chhattisgarh.
The encounter 35 km from the Chhattisgarh-Telangana border took place around 7 am, and was planned and executed by Telangana’s Grey-hounds.
