Three months after a mob lynched Moham-med Ikhlaq in Dadri for allegedly eating and storing beef, the UP police on Wednesday filed a chargesheet, that named 15 persons, including a minor, who will be tried before the Juvenile Justice Board. Sources said it is based on the statement of Ikhlaq’s daughter, the key witness. Signific-antly, it has no mention of beef.
On September 28, Ikhlaq, 52, was dragged out of his home and beaten to death by a mob.
