A 12-year-old boy in Rajasthan has created history by clearing the Class 12 board exam, the youngest in the state to do so.
Aabhas Sharma of Jaipur scored 325 marks out of 600, scoring 65 per cent and getting a first division in the Class 12 exam, the results of which were announced on Monday evening. Aabhas gave the credit of his success to his parents and teachers. “There was no pressure on me and my parents and teachers were very supportive. I just used to study one night before the exam and was confident about my success,” he said.
According to Aabhas, he skipped some primary classes and started school from Class 1. He took admission at the age of three-and-a-half in the school run by his father, Aabhas Public School. His father started the school in 2004, a year after his birth.
Born on August 26, 2003, Aabhas grabbed eyeballs two years ago when he cleared the Class 10 exam at the age of 10 years with 61 per cent marks. However, he missed the record by an year, which is held by Tathagat Avtar Tulsi of Patna, who had cleared matriculation at the age of nine, subsequently obtaining a bachelor’s degree at the age of 10. The talented boy, who wishes to become doctor and serve people, has had to suffer a setback of sorts as he would not be able to sit for the medical entrance test because he is younger than the minimum age bar. He will have to wait another five years as the age limit for competitive exams is 17 years.
Although the family is planning to fight a legal battle for Aabhas, they have a Plan B. They want to get him admitted to college to pursue graduation and masters thereafter.
