British comedian Ricky Gervais has defended his offensive and controversial jokes that he makes on stage while hosting events, saying that he never really judges people himself.
“I don’t really judge people, I pretend to judge people for comic effect,” Ricky said in an interview on radio channel KIISFM, and added, “I think people think I go out to try to ruin people’s nights, or undermine the moral fabric of America. I’ve worked with these people and I’m friends with some of them, but that would be nauseating!”
He also added that celebrities needed to be able to take a joke, saying, “...these are some of the richest most privileged people in the world and they’re winning awards, I just tease them a little bit.”
