Hollywood actor Morgan Freeman had a plane-scare on Saturday night when his private jet was forced to make an emergency landing, and ended up rolling off the runway and into a dirt field.
According to TMZ.com, the hired jet had a few hydraulic problems shortly after take-off after which the pilot radioed in a mayday call and landed in at an airstrip around 60 kilometres from where it started.
Morgan issued a statement later, saying, “Sometimes things don’t go as planned and a tire blew on take-off which caused other problems. But thanks to my excellent pilot Jimmy Hobson we landed safely without a scratch. I cannot say the same about my plane.”
